How much does a custom van build cost?

Most Waypoint van conversions land between $95,000 and $200,000 depending on systems and finish — Weekender builds start at $75,000, and expedition-grade builds with four-season systems run $165,000+. Trailers start around $28,000 and truck campers around $38,000. After a free consult and paid design phase, you get a fixed price before the build starts — the number you approve is the number you pay.

Does the price include the vehicle?

Our conversion pricing is build-only. If you don’t already own a van or truck, we’ll help you spec and source the right chassis — often better than dealer pricing on the exact configuration your build needs.

How long does a build take?

Design takes 3–4 weeks. The build itself runs 8–14 weeks depending on complexity. Including the queue, plan on roughly 4–8 months from first call to keys in hand. We’re currently booking Fall 2026 build slots.

How do deposits and payments work?

$2,500 starts design (credited to your build). $5,000 reserves your build slot (also credited). During the build, payments land at 25/50/75% milestones, with the balance due at delivery. You’ll see this schedule in writing before you commit a dollar.

Can I finance a custom build?

Yes — most clients use RV or specialty adventure-vehicle lenders with terms up to 15 years. We’ll point you to lenders who understand custom builds and help with the documentation they need.

Can you help with titling and insurance?

Yes. We provide the build documentation insurers and DMVs ask for, and we’ll walk you through registering your rig as a motorhome/RV where applicable — it usually means better insurance rates and coverage.

What if something breaks after delivery?

Every build carries our 3-year workmanship warranty, plus manufacturer warranties on major components (many are 5 years). Call us first — we diagnose remotely, ship parts, or get you into the shop. You’re never on your own.

Will you work on a van you didn’t build?

Case by case. Upgrades and repairs on well-built rigs, yes — electrical, climate, and water systems are our specialty. Rescue projects on bad DIY builds get an honest assessment first.
